Carolyn Will is running for the Saint Paul Ward 4 City Council seat “to bring balance and real-world problem-solving to city government,” according to a press release on June 4. “As a small business owner, longtime homeowner, a mom and grandmama, she understands the daily challenges facing working families and local employers.”

She is married with two adult children and one grandchild. A homeowner, she has live in Saint Paul for 33 years in four different wards. She is the business owner of CW Marketing & Communications, and has been a member of Saint Paul Rotary Club (board member 2020-2022), MN PRSA (board member 2020-2024), SARPA Board President (2015-2019), Midway YMCA member, Town & Country member, and Holy Spirit parishioner.

Will has spent her career as a broadcast journalist and public relations professional, helping people communicate clearly and work together. She said that she believes in safety that starts with accountability and neighbors helping neighbors, budgets that respect taxpayers, and a city that welcomes growth without forgetting its roots.

Key issues:

  • Strong Tree Preservation Policy: “I believe in valuing our trees and green spaces. I will advocate for a robust tree preservation policy that prioritizes protecting trees in road construction and public land development projects.”
  • Value for taxes: “As your representative, I will ensure that your property taxes are working for you. Transparency and accountability in city spending will be my priority.”
  • Public safety on transit: “Public safety is essential for our community. I will work to enhance safety measures on public transit to keep our citizens safe.”
  • Clean public parks: “Our parks should be clean and welcoming. I will push for effective waste management solutions to keep our parks beautiful.”

Every Saturday, Will hosts a gathering in a Ward 4 park. Upcoming will be at 9 a.m., Saturday, June 7, Aldine Park, 1717 Iglehart Ave. Arrive 15 minutes early (8:45 a.m.)  for a standing morning stretch. Stay 15 minutes after to pick up trash around the park.
