A PARTNERSHIP CONNECTING THE COMMUNITY

The Midway Chamber of Commerce Community Directory is a joint project of the Midway Chamber and the Midway Como Frogtown Frogtown Monitor. The partnership began in 1995 when a former Midway Chamber president reached out to the Monitor, a longtime Chamber member, to consider producing the annual book for the Chamber. Prior to this, the Monitor had been used solely as a distribution vehicle for the Chamber Directory, since the circulation footprints of the Monitor and the Chamber Directory do widely overlap. This new proposal for the Monitor, however, was based on the hope that the collaboration between the community newspaper and the civic and commerce association could further generate additional benefits and synergies beyond the publication of the Directory.

Today, the Chamber Directory is produced on an annual basis, with the Chamber providing the editorial copy for the book and the staff at TMC Publications, owner of the Midway Como Frogtown Frogtown Monitor, selling advertising for the Directory, producing ads, and laying out the publication. TMC Publications also handles the printing of the Directory. Each year a portion of the revenue from ad sales in the Directory are returned to the Chamber.
